Q = What is CDG (CD+G/CD+Graphics)?

A = CDG (CD+G) is a Graphic karaoke track you require a compatible CDG karaoke player to play this format. On screen lyrics appear with a colored back ground. The lyrics change color in time with the music.

Q = What is a VCD Karaoke disc?

A = VCD stands for 'Video Compact Disc' and basically it is a CD that contains moving pictures and sound. On screen lyrics appear with a moving video in the back ground. Lyrics change color in time with the music. VCD Karaoke discs contain main vocals That can be removed using a karaoke players MPX feature.

Q = How will my ordered be delivered?

A = Karaoke players and hardware will be sent on a next working day delivery service using A courier service. Discs and smaller items will be sent using Royal mail's services.

Q. How do i connect my karaoke player to my TV.

A. You can use a scart cable or HDMI cable or simply the red white and yellow phono connections.

This will give you the lyrics on screen and the music will be heard on the TV set.

 

Q. How can i get more sound from my karaoke player.

A. You can do this by using a HIFI with an auxiliary input, a surround sound system or by using an amplifier and speakers.

 

Q. Can I connect my Karaoke player to my computer using the USB connection?

A. No you can’t the karaoke player direct to your computer, The USB on the karaoke player is for connecting an external hard drive or memory stick into.

 

Q. How do i get a good balance between my singing and the music?

A. The karaoke player will have microphone volume controls and you will also have music level control if you find the music is over powering your vocal then simply reduce the music level down until you achieve a nice balance between music and microphone levels.

 

Q. How do I back up my discs?

A. In the UK. Backing up your karaoke discs is not legal in any form.

In the USA, backing up your discs is permissible under the Fair Use Act, but only as a home user, only one copy is allowed, and you are not entitled to use these discs in a commercial environment.

 

Q. How should I clean my Karaoke discs?

A. Always clean a CD or laserdisc in the same way wiping the CD from the centre of the disk to the edge never go across the data area sideways. If a CD becomes scratched it will still generally play fine if it is scratched in a horizontal line, and if the scratch is in a line across the centre of the CD. Any other scratch would make the CD unreadable.

 

Q. What Does CDG Stand For?

A. CDG stands for Compact Disc + Graphics (also known CD+G)

A CDG is a compact disc created with graphics in addition to the standard audio track found on a normal audio CD. A CDG player is required to play the graphics on such a disc.

Q. What is MP3G

A. MP3G is the newest format for karaoke music.  There are 2 files stored on the disc, an MP3 file and a Graphics file.  A MP3 is a compressed audio file.  The graphics file is what you see on the screen.  This format has the advantage of having a lot more songs on one disc compared to a CDG since MP3 files are a lot smaller than CDG files.

 

Q: Do Karaoke music discs use original artist recordings?

A:karaoke songs are recreations of the original song recorded by independent manufacturers. The manufacturer has hired independent artists and bands to recreate songs done in the likeness of the original artist, with the goal of sounding as similar to the original artist as possible.

 

Q: What kind of program do I need to use to play cdg files on my computer?

A: You need a program like Karaoke Builder Player (freeware) or Karafun (Even better, it allows you to change the tempo/pitch) in realtime). Simply download, install and run it; open your cdg file (remember that the corresponding mp3 file has to be in the same directory) and that's it! Macintosh users can download a program like QMidi or Kjams Lite; the Lite version (free) has all the feature you need.
